2026: A Year for Love & Civility

As we leave the year 2025 and enter 2026, we want to wish all our friends and neighbors in Whitman a happy new year filled with peace, harmony and joy. 2025 has not been a year where this country and the world helped us celebrate our core values of love, inclusion, trust and respect. While we take pride in the way our town has helped us with advancing our mission, there were just too many times during the year where the national news reminded us that hate is still with us, mass shooting are commonplace, anti-semitism continues to rear its ugly head, and migrants are often treated with suspicion and contempt. Thankfully that is not the Whitman we know.

As we enter the end of the year it is usually a time for making resolutions about self-improvement and goodwill toward others. We in the Whitman Freedom Team remain committed to working with our neighbors to continue making our community a place where people see the good in others and open their hearts to those in need. Whitman is a wonderful town with special people who often help others without concern for their race, religion, gender or ethnicity. Let us all continue to work together to make 2026 a better year filled with love, compassion, generosity, and civility. From all of us at the Whitman Freedom Team, Happy New Year.
